“Time to Move”
Crosby must be awfully tired of being referred to as “son of ’80s hitmaker Kenny Loggins.” Fact is, it’s opened a lot of doors. A soulful album with former band the Light showed promise, and then he won MTV’s “Rock the Cradle” competition against a gaggle of other musicians’ kids. This 10-song solo debut offers agreeable pop, merging James Taylor-like vocals with a Gavin DeGraw/Maroon 5 vibe. John Mayer adds a guitar solo on the title cut, and a solid cast of studio musicians buoys the effort. But Crosby’s smooth, effortless singing impresses the most. Download: “You Want to Be With Me.”
